Choosing a pediatrician is not something parents should take lightly. You want someone you can trust and someone who will treat your child like the precious human he or she is. At Physicians' Clinic of Iowa Pediatrics, our experienced team provides everything your child needs in a caring, nurturing environment.

Pediatricians prevent, detect, and manage physical, behavioral, and developmental issues that affect children. Pediatric care starts at birth and normally continues through your child's 18th birthday. Our pediatricians in Eastern Iowa diagnose and treat a broad range of childhood illnesses, from minor health problems to serious diseases.

At PCI, Our Pediatricians and Pediatric Team:

  • Have specialized training in the physical, emotional, and behavioral needs of children.
  • Only see children, so we have more experience recognizing and treating childhood illnesses.
  • Can offer specialized care if your child was premature or has a health condition that needs close monitoring.
  • Can help you find a specialist if your child needs surgery.

PCI Pediatrics now has a Certified Lactation Counselor! A Lactation Counselor’s role is to provide knowledge and counseling about breastfeeding and infant feeding to parents and families in the first years of life. We will work with you to support your breastfeeding goals and help you manage any feeding difficulties. Our counselor's special interests include initiation of breastfeeding, managing pumping and parental leave, and bottle/combo feeding.

Vaccine Policy

The pediatricians at this practice follow and recommend the vaccine schedule according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Immunizations are vital for the health and safety of our patients and our community. We strongly recommend patients to be fully immunized, unless medically contraindicated.

One of the main roles we have as physicians is to educate our patients and their caregivers on keeping their children healthy. We will provide education and address questions caregivers have about the recommended vaccine schedule. While we strongly recommend not delaying vaccines, we are willing to accommodate a delayed vaccine schedule as long as the caregiver agrees to the following:

We do not accept patients who will not receive any vaccines.

The patient must be working towards staying up-to-date on vaccines as mutually agreed upon by the caregiver and physician. The patient must return for follow-up vaccine appointments according to the agreed upon delayed schedule (and not further delay or skip vaccine appointments).

The patient must be up to date on recommended vaccines by age 2.

While we understand that decisions about patients' health is up to caregivers, if they are not willing to follow this vaccine policy, then another medical provider may be a better fit to care
for that family.

PCI Pediatrics is always accepting new patients. No referral needed!
