Have a great experience? Could things have gone better? Take a minute to tell us about it. Our goal is to continuously improve the service and care we provide for you and your family.
Accurate diagnoses and effective individualized treatment plans for cancer care often require a combination of comprehensive diagnostic and imaging tests. Imaging is also an important component of monitoring treatment. We employ the following technologies:
A spacious on-site chemotherapy infusion center features an accredited chemotherapy preparation lab and experienced nursing staff to ensure optimum infusion cancer treatment and sensitivity to individual patient needs. Patients can recline during treatment in heated massage chairs and enjoy a wide selection of music, videos, games or reading material from the on-site patient library. Our goals are to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed during this stage of our cancer care.
For our patients’ convenience we provide a medication dispensing service for treatment-related prescriptions right in the office. We feel this increases the quality of care we offer while allowing our providers to closely monitor potential drug interactions and allergies. This also reduces responsibilities outside of treatment for the patient and their loved ones.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa collaborates with St. Luke's Nassif Radiation Center to offer Intraoperative Electron Radiation Therapy (IOERT) and conventional radiation therapy.
IntraOperative Electron Radiation Therapy allows patients to receive a concentrated does of radiation directly targeted to the tumor bed during initial surgery. This form of radiation therapy can be done at the time of surgery and has been linked to smaller doses and shorter treatment times.
Our oncologists work closely with PCI’s own surgeons in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple types of cancers. Together, PCI oncologists and surgeons treat more cancer patients than any other team in Cedar Rapids. Our surgeons operate at both local hospitals and Surgery Center Cedar Rapids.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is committed to conducting meaningful and beneficial clinical trials (research studies) for many different types of cancer. We participate in research programs with several respected national organizations funded by the National Cancer Institute. In addition, we partner with oncology networks across the country to give you access to industry leading trials. Learn more about oncology research >>
When appropriate, our oncologists work with local Palliative care and Hospice teams to provide superior care when patients are facing the toughest healthcare and life choices regarding their cancer treatment. These teams provide guidance to patients to help make decisions that match their goals and provide support when faced with serious, sometimes life-threatening medical conditions.
The Survivorship Clinic is a partnership between Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa and Helen G. Nassif Community Cancer Center of Iowa. We specialize in providing individualized post-treatment care plans for cancer survivors, creating a network of cancer support. We bring together support and prevention services to help transition patients from active treatment to wellness—even years after cancer treatment is complete.
