Have a great experience? Could things have gone better? Take a minute to tell us about it. Our goal is to continuously improve the service and care we provide for you and your family.
Founded in Cedar Rapids in 1997, Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI) is one of Iowa’s largest private, multispecialty physician groups. Over 80 physicians, surgeons, and mid-level providers meet nationally recognized standards for education, knowledge, experience, and skills in order to provide the highest quality of care in a wide range of specialties and subspecialties.
PCI is independent and locally owned—giving Eastern Iowa families a choice in where they receive their specialty care. Our specialists see patients at PCI Medical Pavilion, but also offer inpatient and surgical care at both Cedar Rapids hospitals, Surgery Center Cedar Rapids, and surrounding community medical centers. 24 hours a day, seven days a week—a PCI doctor is always on-call and ready to help.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Medical Pavilion—Eastern Iowa’s premier specialty medical center—makes visiting the doctor more convenient than ever before. Accredited on-site imaging and laboratory, state-of-the-art technology, infusion center, and more, help deliver tailored solutions and successful outcomes.
We’re in this together. Together in health.
All PCI physicians and surgeons are either board certified or board eligible in their specialty. Medical specialty certification in the United States is a voluntary process. Board certification—and the Gold Star—demonstrate a physician’s exceptional expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of medical practice.
The Gold Star signals a board certified physician’s commitment and expertise in consistently achieving superior clinical outcomes in a responsive, patient-focused setting. Patients, physicians, healthcare providers, insurers and quality organizations look for the Gold Star as the best measure of a physician’s knowledge, experience and skills to provide quality healthcare within a given specialty.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). MRI is a noninvasive medical test that utilizes magnetic fields to produce anatomical images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in computed tomography (CT) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). CT scanning — sometimes called CAT scanning — is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and tailor treatments for various medical conditions.
Physicians' Clinic of Iowa has been awarded accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation (COLA). Completing COLA’s accreditation program means our clinical laboratory is in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and is recognized by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa vascular laboratory is nationally accredited by ICAVL and is one of few such vascular labs in Cedar Rapids.
Physicians' Clinic of Iowa - Ear Nose & Throat has been received a three-year term of accreditation in CT in the areas of Sinus and Temporal Bone CT by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Accreditation by the IAC means that our clinic has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards through a comprehensive application process including detailed case study review.
Physicians' Clinic of Iowa - Hematology & Oncology has received the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) certification awarded for exceptional outpatient care. PCI was the first cancer treatment provider in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor to receive the three-year certification.
The primary goal of the QOPI Certification process is to encourage practice improvement. The QOPI Certification seal indicates that a practice benchmarks against national standards that are reliable and credible and also acts to incorporate standards and processes to safeguard both the practice and patients. A certified practice strives to better streamline policies and procedures and improve interdepartmental communications, especially in regards to record keeping and billing.
We started with a small group of physicians who wanted to create an independent, physician owned care model for the community. Today, our medical group has grown to more than 80 physicians, surgeons and mid-level providers who deliver care to thousands each year.
