Amid ongoing concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to assure you that the safety of our patients and employees is our top priority. Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). At all PCI staff members are following COVID-19 prevention and infection control guidelines.

With the state of Iowa’s go-ahead to perform elective surgeries and procedures, Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa is extending building hours in order to accommodate patient needs.

PCI is committed to continuing to provide our patients with excellent care in the safest possible environment. We are contacting patients to reschedule surgical appointments as quickly as possible, as well as scheduling new appointments and procedures.

PCI’s Cedar Rapids campus, including both Medical Pavilions 1 and 2, are open 7 AM – 5 PM, Monday – Friday.

All services, including diagnostic lab and imaging, are fully available to patients. The extended hours allow clinics to spread appointments apart to respect social distancing recommendations.

PCI staff will continue to screen visitors at building entrances. Due to this screening process, some entrances will remain closed in order to funnel patients to the screening tables.

Additionally, out of an abundance of concern for the safety and health of our patients and staff, we are implementing many new guidelines, including recommending that patients and building visitors:

  • Wear a mask to appointments
  • Respect social distancing guidelines
  • Wash hands frequently
  • Stay home if sick
  • Please limit the number of people who accompany you to upcoming appointments. Here are our current guidelines to help keep everyone safe:
    • Patients may only be accompanied by one caregiver, if a caregiver is necessary. Please ensure the person accompanying you is not showing symptoms of respiratory illness, such as a cough.
    • Parents are asked not to bring children to parental appointments.
    • When you bring your child to an appointment, we are requesting parents only bring the child who has an appointment. Please do not bring siblings to other sibling appointments, when possible.
  • Cover coughs & sneezes
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Valet parking is closed. If you have mobility issues or need help getting to your appointment, please let us know!

We understand this may be challenging for our families. These guidelines are in keeping with public health recommendations of social distancing and limiting the number of people in buildings. These practices are especially important in healthcare settings.

Please know that we will continue to care for you and your loved ones. The health and safety of our patients and staff continues to be our highest priority!

Thank you for trusting your care to Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa!
