Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI), East Central Iowa’s largest independent medical group, today announced a new PCI office location in North Liberty. The new location will provide specialty care services for residents of North Liberty and surrounding areas.
PCI will lease the former family medicine building, located in the heart of North Liberty on West Cherry Street. “This medical facility offers PCI the perfect opportunity to expand specialty care into one of the fastest growing regions in Iowa,” said Michael Sundall, PCI’s Chief Executive Officer. “The central location will provide convenient access for residents to get valuable specialty services they need, close to home.” Currently, North Liberty residents must travel to Cedar Rapids or Iowa City for most specialty care.
The 5,000 square-foot facility offers patient exam and consultation suites, procedure rooms, and prompt access for patients. “PCI North Liberty will be staffed full-time by an Advanced Care Nurse Practitioner and two support staff,” Sundall continued. “Initially, several PCI specialty physicians will rotate at the new location, however, the intent is to recruit PCI specialty providers to practice full-time in North Liberty.”
The current facility will be upgraded and remodeled to better accommodate the needs of specialty care providers and patients. “Beyond the new décor and modern features of our North Liberty office, PCI is taking a proactive approach to providing specialty care by bringing our services to new locations,” said Pam Crum, PCI’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our commitment to the North Liberty community will reinforce PCI’s reputation of providing quality health care to the people we serve throughout East Central Iowa and beyond.”
The new PCI North Liberty location is scheduled to open for business by Spring 2019, just ahead of PCI’s Cedar Rapids campus building expansion. Medical Pavilion II, located across 10th Street SE from the current Medical Pavilion, is slated to open in late 2019. “Both expansion projects position PCI to better serve our patients, and that is what matters most,” Crum said.
