CEDAR RAPIDS—September 8, 2011—Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI), a multi-specialty medical group, welcomes the addition of Cheryl K. Koester, MA, CCC-A as Audiologist at PCI—Ear, Nose & Throat/Head & Neck Surgery.
Koester holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Deaf Elementary Education as well as a Master of Arts in Communication Disorders.
Prior to joining Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa Koester worked as a Clinical Audiologist with Hansen Hearing Center and St. Luke’s Hospital, both in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In this role, she specialized in performing hearing tests and diagnosing audiologic disorders in adults and children. In addition, she assisted patients with hearing aid selection, fitting, and follow-up.
Koester also has experience working with hearing impaired children in an educational setting. She worked for eight years as an Educational Audiologist for the Los Angeles County Office of Education where she led a Deaf & Hard of Hearing program for six teachers. Koester also provided aural rehabilitation programs for elementary school children.
Koester is a member of the American Speech & Hearing Association as well as the American Academy of Audiology. She will join PCI’s two existing Audiologists located at 901 8th Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA. Koester can be reached by calling (319) 399-2022.
