CEDAR RAPIDS—August 10, 2011—Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI), a multidisciplinary medical specialty group, has announced the addition of two board-certified nurse practitioners to its team of care providers.  Sara M. Hubbell joins PCI as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) in the Department of Surgical Specialists and Jill N. Miller as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) in the Department of Neurology.

Hubbell will work alongside Jeffrey Nielsen, MD, general surgeon with PCI—Surgical Specialists.  Assisting Dr. Nielsen, Hubbell will provide advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical and chronic health conditions.  As an ACNP, Hubbell is qualified to help assess and manage patients in concert with physicians.  In addition, she will provide follow-up care to ensure successful transition after surgery.

Hubbell is a graduate of Allen College in Waterloo, IA where she received her Master of Science in Nursing.  She has received Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) and has past experience which includes post-anesthesia nursing. 

In Neurology, Miller will work collaboratively with PCI’s five neurologists and one other nurse practitioner.  She will provide care for patients suffering from stroke, headache disorders, memory and dementia disorders, neuromuscular disorders, and sleep disorders. 

Miller comes to PCI with past experience at University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics where she provided nursing in the medical intensive care unit. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the Clarke University in Dubuque, IA and is Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the ANCC.
