CEDAR RAPIDS— August 1, 2011— Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa (PCI), a multidisciplinary medical specialty group, announced that Jeremy Thorsgaard has recently joined the organization in the position of Information Technology (IT) Director.
In this position, Thorsgaard is responsible for providing overall strategic IS/IT guidance and analytical support across the PCI organization. This includes reviewing existing technologies, benchmarking, implementing security and compliance best practices, and developing short and long term strategies to support future growth. In addition, Thorsgaard oversees all IT initiatives, processes and procedures as well as the day-to-day operations of the IT department.
"What attracted me to Physician’s Clinic of Iowa was the standard of excellence visible in all aspects of the organization, and the chance to be part of the progressive thinking, and growth that is happening within the organization right now,” Thorsgaard said.
Prior to joining PCI, Thorsgaard worked at Archonix Systems, Inc. in Cedar Rapids where he has spent the last ten years as Technical Project & Support Manager. Archonix provides advanced public safety software to Police Departments, Fire Departments, Correctional Institutions and other Public Safety Agencies.
Mike Sundall, CEO of PCI commented, “This is a very exciting time for our organization. With construction of the Medical Pavilion underway, our need to develop strategic IT solutions is greater than ever. Jeremy’s experience with complex software systems is a good fit for PCI and we are delighted to welcome him to our team.”
