CEDAR RAPIDS—May 3, 2012— Every year, Mercy Medical Center employees nominate physicians that have volunteered their time, worked to improve a program or process, or been a shining example of outstanding patient care. 

Dr. Warren Verdeck, of Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa—Orthopaedics and Medical Director of the MMC Wound Clinic, has been awarded the Colleague Award. This award is given to a physician who has demonstrated the ability to recognize and acknowledge individual contributions of all team members to enhance patient outcomes.  Colleagues’ demonstrate respect in all of their interactions, uphold Mercy’s Service Excellence Performance Standards and participate in care conferences and planning committees.  They are a role model in upholding the professional code of conduct of the Medical Staff. 

Dr. Verdeck will be honored at the Tribute to Talent event taking place at The Hotel at Kirkwood on May 3, 2012.
